Where Does Our Fairtrade Cotton Come From?
Our Fairtrade cotton comes from small family farms in Odisha, India — part of the Chetna Organic co-operative, certified since 2005. These farmers face unpredictable weather, debt cycles, and the challenges of climate change. Through Fairtrade, they’re paid a living wage and empowered to farm sustainably.
Working alongside the Fairtrade Association, Chetna helps set local cotton prices that guarantee fair compensation. Every step of the supply chain is audited for ethics and transparency — no exploitation, no hidden corners.
How Fairtrade Works
Independent organisations like the Fairtrade Foundation set and monitor global standards for fair wages, environmental protection, and human rights. Farms, mills and factories must meet these standards to be certified — ensuring your organic bedding has a clean, ethical origin.
Cotton farming has long been plagued by harmful chemicals, child labour, and exploitation. Fairtrade changes that. It’s not a marketing ploy — it’s a promise we refuse to compromise on.
